CriXicus (Partnered Mixer Streamer)

With the streaming war going full throttle between Twitch and MIxer, there has been a substantial opening of opportunity for streamer of all walks of life to grow their audience. Today we have the great pleasure of interviewing one of MIxers Partnered Streamers…. CriXicus!

Hi CriXicus! Could you please provide a brief introduction of yourself for our readers.

My name is CriXicus I am a partnered streamer on Mixer.com. I love shooter games, and just gaming in general. Aside from gaming I love college football and my alma mater TCU.

What inspires you?

What inspires me is my faith. I am a Christian and I never push my faith on anyone but it does drive me to want to be a better person and help others. I also find it helps keep me grounded and keeps my eyes on the bigger picture. Especially after a tough stream or even just a bad day.

What is your favorite 90s Jam?

Ez claps. Backstreets Boys Everybody.

What is a typical day in your life like?

I wake up and go to the gym. I then will watch my VOD of my stream from the day before to look for improvements. I will then get cleaned up and prepare for my stream. When my stream is over, I typically go through about 50-100 emails depending on the day. I typically do this with another streamer in the background. I pass out and it all starts over.

How has the digital world impacted your life?

Significantly. I would say it has had a positive impact on my life. However, I do try and find times to disconnect and step away from it all.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

I was in a game of Fortnite and when I landed, I got the gun before the other player. He did the crying emote. Feeling sorry I dropped the gun and did a happy emote. I was shot down promptly by the player. My viewers thought that was pretty funny.

What things did you do before you became a gamer?

Honestly, Ive been gaming since I was three. It's been in my life for a long time, even when I wasn’t a full time streamer, I would always find time to game. I think it has given me great benefits and I totally disagree with some who say video games are bad.

What are the skills that are most important for a someone in this field?

I truly believe the most successful people in this industry are great people persons, that can also multitask.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

Ez question I would be a Horned frog. I mean they can spit blood out of their eyes when a predator attacks.. thats wicked.

Outside of work, what are some of the types of hobbies that you like to do?

I love to go shoot my guns at the range, hanging out with my amazing girlfriend and our two cats (for the record I am still a dog person) Also I love movies especially historical movies.

Do you have any advice for someone interested in this field?

I would say it is much harder than some would have you believe. However, if you truly want to be a streamer and do this for a living it can be attained. Just be ready to work your butt off. I recently picked up Ninjas new book and it has some great advice for streamers. One piece of advice I would share is set attainable/reasonable goals. No one is going to become a huge streamer overnight. If you look or compare yourself to bigger established streamers the climb will look daunting. Just take one step at a time and focus on hitting your goals.

Do you have any special words of encouragement or warning as a result of your experience?

Words of encouragement would be YOU CAN DO IT. Don’t look at the destination just focus on the journey (yes that’s corny but it's so true) Warnings; In this industry you need to have thick skin. Internet is full of trolls and will come at you every day. The more you let it get to you the more they will attack. Find good mods get those people out of your channel and keep on grinding

What are the challenges you have personally encountered working in this field?

The challenge for a lot of streamers is making sure you take care of yourself. Go outside see the sun and get some exercise! This believe it or not will actually improve you stream quality.

Who would win a fight between Spiderman and Batman?

Sony
