(DJI) the Phantom 4 series out. What is their next move?
If you have looked at a drone in the past decade there is one drone company that comes to mind and that is DJI. This company pretty much revolutionized what we know of drones. The whole journey started with the Phantom Series Phantom series, which was/is probably the most pronounced drone line on the market. The popularity of the line inspired multiple different copy cats throughout the world and pretty much creating the gold standard of where all drones are today. It's been used in everything from consumer products to the commercial basis as with being used with firefighters and police officers in search and rescue operations as well as being used simply for taking photography and videography for regular people. The line seems to have a strong following but a new rumor has come out in that the Phantom series is going to be phased out as DJ moves to a new more compact series with the Mavic pro. At present the Phantom 4 series is being completely phased out with it not available to purchase anymore except for the Phantom 4 Pro RTK. In response many people are asking whether or not DJI is going to be going to the Phantom 5. This would seem like the obvious choice, however recent interviews from Key developers within DJI suggest that the Phantom V series won't be put into production. In fact, one individual has already stated that DJI never said they were considering making the Phantom 5 Series in the first place. This brings into question where the market is going to be going. And with the new Mavic series expanding in multiple different Avenues and being used as a replacement for many of the Phantom series drones brings into question whether or not the Mavics will become the main pro-consumer series on the market. Overall dji's an amazing brand that has been able to build in multiple different Avenues within the Drone industry. Being a Pioneer and ushering in how drones are implemented across multiple disciplines, DJI knows how to lead the drone market. So while the Phantom 4 series is coming to an end. There's going to be a lot more Innovation from DJI and it's going to be really interesting to watch what happens when the next 5 to 10 years with his company as they continue to expand to adapt to an ever-changing Market.
