imagiCharm: the accessory every girl will love to program

imagiCharm: the accessory every girl will love to program

imagiCharm is a colourful accessory designed for teenage girls to customize directly from their mobile phones while learning how to code. imagiLabs, an all-female founded startup based in Sweden has been working hard for two years to create a scalable solution that extends past non-profit workshops and initiatives to get girls into tech. Current solutions were lacking to take girls’ interests into account. Although all initiatives are great, we found a concrete solution to change the statistics for good by focusing on self-expression, community, and tangible experiences in our product.

imagiCharm has 64 LED lights that can be programmed to light up in any colour. It can take on new designs and shapes every day – even multiple times a day. imagiCharm uses Bluetooth so you can program it at home or on the go. No cables or previous programming experience are needed. Our designers and developers have created a delightful mobile experience to complement the imagiCharm. It teaches a real programming language called Python. You can attach the imagiCharm to your bag, wear it as jewelry, or even use it as a name tag. The opportunities are endless, you and your imagination decide how you want to use imagiCharm. imagiLabs is starting a movement of girls who will shape the future of tech.

With Ericsson, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and pop star Robyn’s TEKLA festival as partners – the imagiLabs team has been drawing fans from all over the tech scene. They were even the first Swedish startup to attend Apple’s Entrepreneur Camp for female founders, which Tim Cook tweeted his support for.

imagiCharm launches via Kickstarter on May 28th 6pm CET for pre-orders throughout the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Australia, and New Zealand.
